Fermentation Chambers
I recently bought two 14 gallon Blichmann Fermenators and two upright freezers that I've modified into fermentation chambers. I wanted to use freezers so I can safely drop them below freezing - ala "Bright Tanks" - to clarify the beer before racking. Read more on this thread over at HomeBrewTalk.com.

Gabe,
I saw the article in Zymurgy and I wanted some more info, but there really isn't more info here on your site (which, by the way is visually challenging due to font size and backround). I lived in Columbus GA for 8 yrs so I know about the temperature issues. Am in San Diego now, but will be in Hawaii in a few years and trying to be ready for the temp issues there. I have some Omron E5CJ controllers and other widgets. I have a Sabco that is slightly modified (soon to be very modified) and would like your help in designing a new control system for that too. Please email at sardoc911@yahoo.com
I also read the Zymurgy article and have been planning on a fermentation fridge for some time. I could really use some more details though. A wiring diagram would be really helpful. Was the textured sheeting something you picked up at Home Depot? Any help would be appreciated!

I have the same Freezer and plan on using a controller to control the temp. I saw your post on Homebrewtalk where you pulled off the back panel and wired your controller direct can you tell me which wires are the right ones
I read the article in Zymurgy. Awesome job on those freezers. I brew some ales that I like to ferment at 74 degrees F. My basement is about 64, where I'd like to put a similar keezer. Fermentation alone may not bring a batch from (let's say 70 starting temp to 74 as the cool ambient temp could allow the wort temp to drop. Any ideas about how to add some gentle heat to a keezer to make sure it gets to the desired temp the controller is set at? Same issue after fermentation starts to become less agressive allowing wort temp to drop.
